RemTec Halon Filtration Modules

There are instances when further filtration is required or desired and RemTec modules can be utilized for this additional filtration. RemTec International builds portable, process line, micron and custom filters for your particular project needs.
RemTec International Filter Modules provides additional filtration when needed to clean the recycled Halons to the desired level of certification and beyond. The replaceable cores are a blend of desiccants that give each core a maximum contaminant removal characteristic. They incorporate an activated charcoal that will remove lubricant breakdown materials. Manufacturer tests have demonstrated that the core has a superior acid removal ability. The High moisture filter cores will assist with the Halon that has a high amount of moisture in it.
Charcoal filter pads can also be utilized in the filter housing when extreme residue is found in the Halons. These reusable pads can be cleaned/dried after use.
SUSPENDED MATTER
The requirements for suspended matter testing (particulates) for Halon 1211 and 1301 in accordance with ISO, ASTM and military specifications is a visual test of boiled off material. The average micron level that the naked eye can see is 40 microns. RemTec's filtration equipment is used extensively around the world and has proven to remove particulates to exceed all international testing requirements.
“ISO 7201-1 6.7 Suspended matter or sediment. Examine the liquid phase of the sample visually.”
“MIL-DTL-38741A 4.4.5 Suspended matter or sediment. Examine visually for any suspended matter or sediment.”
“ASTM 5632-01 6.7 Suspended Matter and Sediment. During the Halon 1301 evaporation step of the nonvolatile residue test (see 6.6), examine visually for any suspended matter or sediment. Observation of any suspended matter or sediment shall constitute failure of this test.”
