RemTec’s ARI Certified Laboratory testing facility has recently been moved to its new location at the Haskins Road facility in Bowling Green, Ohio. The additional space and equipment have allowed for greater efficiency in the testing of gas samples.
RemTec’s four Gas Chromatographs (GCs) detect contaminants present in gas samples. The lab has three new GCs up and running, including one with cryogenic capabilities, which can operate in sub-zero temperatures and has higher sensitivity. RemTec’s multi-sampler GC has the capabilities to run up to 16 samples sequentially, and another micro-GC is available for any quick tests that need to be completed. In addition to the four regular GCs and the micro-GC, RemTec’s lab also has two SRI-GCs available to test fixed gases (non-condensable gases).
Approved wet lab procedures are used to conduct color comparison, acidity, residue, suspended matter, and halon ion/chlorides testing. There are also two fully functional hoods for tests that may produce vapors.
The moisture room at RemTec is also considerably larger than at the old facility and has its own environmental control system, which regulates the temperature and humidity. The procedure used to determine moisture content in gases is the Karl Fischer Coulometric titration test, which requires the careful regulation of humidity to produce accurate test results.

A separate room, adjacent to the lab, stores the gas cylinders for easy, quick access, while still keeping them in a safe area. The gas room also is equipped with a garage door so cylinders can be efficiently delivered and removed from storage.
RemTec’s highest concern has always been for the safety of their workers. RemTec’s new lab facility follows all safety guidelines and provides a secure, clean environment for testing.
