RemTec International is in the final phase of a two-year expansion at its Haskins Road, Bowling Green, Ohio facility. When completed this investment will total over $2.0 million dollars in plant and equipment, and will significantly add to RemTec’s capacity to process a complete range of used/mixed refrigerants (Halons, CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs) back to industry accepted standards.

This new installation will include state of the art instrumentation and control systems that will automatically control and monitor the entire process. The main feature is the design and installation of (4) fifty-foot distillation towers with expansion room for (2) more towers of equal, or larger size. Each tower can be operated independently, including the capability to process a finished product configuration for up to ten (10) products. Historian programming will collect data (approximately 100 points) for up to one year via an HMI package. The trend screens are programmed with both real-time and historical data.

Piping is designed to go to a central distribution panel where flexible shunt lines are used to connect any supply location to any destination location. Outside and inside processing/storage tanks are monitored by the main computer control system. To minimize accidental losses, fail-safe devices and automatic shut-off valves are installed throughout the process. In order to enhance immediate response time, authorized personnel can access the control system both on and off-site.

The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) is scheduled to begin June 15, 2008. Installation and initial operation of all (4) towers will be completed by December 31, 2008.
