Since its inception in 1986, RemTec International's mission has been to reduce the environmental impact that halocarbons (Halons, CFC's, HCFC's and HFC's) have on our atmosphere. We do this in several ways:
First, RemTec purchases "used" Halons, CFCs, HCFCs and HFCS from non-critical users and then processes these agents until they meet internationally accepted standards. This material is then “banked” in our long-term storage facilities until needed by critical users.
Secondly, RemTec also sells new replacement agents to users who no longer require Halons and CFC refrigerants.
Finally, RemTec offers several destruction options to clients who need to safely dispose of these hazardous materials in accordance with all regulatory requirements.

RemTec International is a Department of Transportation and Transport Canada approved hydrostatic testing facility.
RemTec is an active member of the National Association of Fire Equipment Dealers (NAFED), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Air-Condition and Heating Institute (AHRI), Heating Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International, the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM), Fire Suppression Systems Association (FSSA), the National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors (NAFED), and is a Board Member of the Alliance for Responsible Atmospheric Policy, the Coalition for Responsible Fire Protection, Halon Alternatives Research Corporation (HARC) and the Halon Recycling Corporation (HRC). RemTec is also recognized as a certified refrigerant reclaimer by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and participates in the AHRI 700 Laboratory Certification Program for Reclaimed Refrigerants. RemTec is only one of three AHRI certified testing laboratories in the world with this designation.
