Established in 1986, RemTec International offers products and services that reduce ozone depletion and global warming. Our primary mission is to buy used CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs and Halons and reclaim them to industry standards. All CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs and Halons are banked and then offered for sale to our customers with full laboratory certifications.

Refrigerants such as R-11, R-12, R-22, R-134a and the 400 and 500 series blends and Halon 1211, Halon 1301 and Halon 2402 are high in ozone depleting potential (ODP), or are high in global warming potential (GWP). All of these halocarbons pose a threat to our environment, and are a major global concern. RemTec International maintains our commitment to environ-mental protection through innovative reclamation of these chemicals.

Halocarbon Banking

RemTec has taken an innovative role in decreasing the emission of ozone-depleting and global warming substances, through the establishment of our comprehensive Halocarbon Bank Management Program.

The RemTec Halocarbon Bank Management Program accepts “used” CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs and Halons from clients for reclamation. Once tested and segregated according to the type of contamination, all Refrigerants and Halons are then cleaned to industry accepted quality standards. We certify all halocarbons through laboratory analysis. Detailed record keeping is maintained throughout the process for customer and third party regulatory inspection.

RemTec’s Halocarbon Bank Management Program meets all requirements of the EPA’s 1990 Clean Air Act. These steps include proper reclamation of all contaminated ozone-depleting substances or those with high global warming potential. RemTec’s facility is monitored by the local U.S. Environmental Protection Agency office and is nationally listed as a Certified Refrigerant Reclaimer under 40 CFR 82.164.

Refrigerant & Halon Destruction

Occasionally, our clients may select destruction as a preferable option, especially if their corporate policy requires permanent disposal of all halocarbon substances considered harmful to the environment. RemTec utilizes a high-efficiency Plasma Arc technology that is designed to break down halocarbons and other organic matter at an ultra high efficiency rated in excess if 99.999%. Since the only significant effluent is a salt solution, this technology is considered safe to operate and environmentally friendly. RemTec’s Plasma Arc Destruction System meets or exceeds all TEAP performance standards.
